President Bill Clinton led the way in the passing of the unfair NAFTA and GATT trade agreements during the most massive dislocation of jobs in U.S. history with millions losing their jobs.  History will show that it was a Democrat President and a Democrat controlled Congress that passed both NAFTA and GATT trade agreements with Hillary acting as Co-President.

President Bill Clinton went out of his way to get the trade agreements passed.  Even though the Contract with America Republicans won Congress in 1993, President Clinton could not wait until January for the Republicans to pass GATT.  He called a special lameduck session of Congress during the Thanksgiving Day vacation and forced the passing of GATT. 

He also had to rush billions of dollars to Mexico to save the peso after getting NAFTA passed.  The U.S. Government sponsored the moving of factories outside the USA starting in 1956. It was supposed to be just a temporary program but it never ended and evolved into what is called Free Trade.  At first, only a few factories were moved but by 1992, more than 2,000 factories were moved to Mexico. However, after NAFTA was passed by President Clinton an a Democrat controlled Congress. the number quickly doubled to more than 4,000 factories moved to Mexico.  President Clinton proclaimed a statistical prosperity while millions of Americans were losing their jobs. The unemployment rates were fabricated and did not match up with the way past  rates were  reported. Even a worker making only a $100 a month was considered employed.  The unemployment insurance offices were no longer used in the reporting since only about 38% of all workers qualified for unemployment insurance.
