19. Human Bombs - real WMDs - President Bush started a pre-emptive war with Iraq. He said Iraq
had Weapons of Mass Destruction. I saw a satirical comment about this somewhere. It said, the Bush family knew there
were WMDs in Iraq because they had the sales receipts for them. ( Congressman Gonzales tried to tell about this on the floor
of Congress before he died - There are thousands of references about this on the internet. ) Former Weapons Inspector
Scot Ritter kept telling anyone who would listen that the WMDs were gone since 1994. (There are over 200,000 references about
this on the internet - Friedman ignores this own technology he raves about in finding the objective truth. )
When the U.S. military got there they found none at all but they experienced a new kind of WMD in the form of a human
bomb. We have human beings in the Middle East who are willing to give their lives for their cause. We have a high tech army
with all the latest stuff but they do not know how to stop a human bomb. This is symbolic of our times and it should
be one of Friedman's "flattenings". Globalization has many who are willing to give up their lives fighting it.
It is a warning that the Free-Traders and Globalists ignore.
"Do onto others what you would have them do
to you" has been changed to "Do to it to others before they do it to you".
Free Traders, like Thomas Friedman in the Flat World seem
to call out for survival of the fittest outside or inside any religion. Their new symbol is the NIKE logo worn by millionaire
sports stars while those who make NIKE products work under wage slave conditions.
The NIKE logo should be a major Flattener of The Flat World of Friedman
but he ignores this too.
How can anyone live off the working poor in this country and the wage slave and
even child labor abroad?
How can employers use impoverished workers for their own benefits and have their
souls in tune with what is right and wrong?
Globalization and Free Trade is a new "ism" which merges all the rest under Globalism
where power and money rule the game.
Neitze open the way for a Hitler by proclaiming God is dead. He did not necessarily
say God no longer existed but that people will live as if there is no God. It seems his concepts have come to the Flat
World in an arena of business and work where anything goes.
And how can anyone shop freely while knowing the products are the result of the
impoverished, wage slave and even child labor.
The Flat World of Friedman hails the logos like the NIKE logo as a symbol for
their new economic religion of Globalism. Do to others before they do it to you, or I got mine, why don't you have
yours?
20. Brotherly Love- Love thy Neighbor - This may be the coming real "flattening" of our times
hopefully. It looks like the phrases from the Bible will become practical solutions since we all know that the surge of barbarianism
must be curtailed. If barbarianism is left unchecked while the Free-Traders and Globalists do their thing and ignore it, it
will conquer everyone. The barbarians are at the gate with everyone being a potential victim or human bomb or as a cab
driver who was from Morocco say to me - I chose to be a slave rather than kill anyone. This is what many did in Roman
times. This is the ultimate "flattening" of our times. Love thy neighbor should be a practical last resort
or else - inside or outside of any religion. The dualism of Free Trade not only chops up economies and ships the
parts across the globe but it also chops up communities and societies. The world becomes a place where individuals come together
for selfish reasons. Free Trade and Globalization turns into one big Survivors show from TV where a community comes
down a community of one person. It becomes a gladiator society where one helps another only until they have to kill each other.
Even Christians in the business world and work day are responding this way. No longer does - do unto others as you
would like them to do to you - applies. People are separating the work day from their spiritual life completely.
Sunday church services and the workday clash until next Sunday. Friedman's Flat World does not even know how to
respond to this dualism.
21. Post- Globalization era - We can not predict the future but we do know that my the common sense
order of things and from history as a science and not as an art form, the post-globalization era is on the way. It is now
happening in South American where a vast Populist Left is growing with many in these groupings Conservatives too following
the lead of Teddy Roosevelt. He said the worst fear he had for America is when government and big business join hands.
It is nonsense to try to build a new world based on destitute workers or wage slave labor. It never has worked and it
will not work now. Free Enterprise is supposed to be a simple process where people can make a reasonable mark up on the products
they make or grow. The mark up must allow the workers enough money to at least pay for the basic essential of life in
their given social economic geopolitical setting. We now have chopped up economies that benefit at most about 20% of populations.
And 20% can not support the other 80% in any decent way. This leads the world to the human bombs and barbarianism .
